‘Die Stal’ is a historic stone building that has been renovated in to a characterful self-catering unit. It is centrally located in Sutherland. The house originally was a milk stable and later transformed into a garage. But Annelien did not want its historic value and beautiful stone facade go to waste and decided to renovate it and revamp it into a self-catering unit, complete with fireplace/indoor braai and kitchen.
A free lovely basket of fruit awaits you on arrival. In winter time, a warm home made/baked bread welcomes you to Die Stal.
This self-catering house is fully equipped with everything that you would need for a romantic weekend away.
The house consists of two bedrooms, one bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy entertainment area with a built in braai to keep you warm. Every room has blankets, electric warm blankets and spare blankets, towels and all bedding. This unit is ideal for couples who want to experience the tranquility of Sutherland in a rustic, but comfortable accommodation.
120 km North of Matjiesfontein in the Roggeveld of the Karoo, Sutherland is a space of clear, dark night skies. It’s where one can marvel at the star scapes that sweep the outer limits, and where astronomers come to use the telescopes of the South African Astronomical Observatory.
Damara Cottage is an Annex cottage at die Stal and sleeps 4 persons. Newly renovated. Most welcome to book at Damara as well.
